Android and iPhone development

If one look at the iPhone app store or Android Market, it is not difficult to find that most of the applications there are graphical intensive "game" applications runs locally on devices.  If one looks for companies that develop iPhone and Android applications, it will become apparent soon that most of the iPhone or Android apps are not "business critical", which loads dynamic data remotely.

As far as "business" app goes, the most important and practical ones are something along the lines of "email", "communication".  The nature of the wireless network, which is filled with unreliability, dropped packets, still dictates the user experience of applications that will be transmission intensive.  It is true that browsing and watching video are all gaining momentem on iPhone -- and smart phones afterwards that were dubbed "would-be iPhone killers".  The real business application on iPhone and "g" phone still takes careful planning and clever design to hide the unreliable wireless network, maybe until 4G and better coverage are everywhere.  Luckily, that day will be soon.
